Connect your AI assistant to eduMe reporting

Ask your AI assistant questions about your eduMe reporting in everyday language, instead of moving between reports in the admin panel.

eduMe's Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection links supported AI assistants, such as Claude and Codex, to your eduMe reporting data.

What can I do with it?

Depending on your eduMe access, you can ask your AI assistant to:

  • Find the groups and teams you can report on
  • Summarise content completion
  • Review mandatory content completion and due date status
  • Break completion down by location
  • Find the reporting filters available for a group or team
  • List learner completion statuses for content you can access

The connection follows your current eduMe admin role and permissions. It can't access groups, teams, content or learner information that you can't already access in eduMe.

Tip: Reporting features require an active admin account with the Company Analyst role. Learn more in Add and manage admins.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • MCP access enabled for your eduMe account
  • An active eduMe admin account with the Company Analyst role
  • The eduMe MCP endpoint, supplied by eduMe
  • An AI client that supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers and OAuth, such as Claude or Codex

🤔 Not sure whether MCP is enabled, or need your endpoint? Contact your eduMe Customer Success Manager or email support@edume.com.

How to connect eduMe to your AI assistant

The wording varies between AI clients, but the process is the same:

  1. Open your client's connector or MCP server settings
  2. Add a remote or Streamable HTTP MCP server
  3. Name the connection eduMe and enter the exact HTTPS endpoint supplied by eduMe. It will end in /mcp
  4. Save the connection, then click Connect or Authenticate
  5. In the browser window that opens, sign in with the eduMe admin account you want to connect
  6. Review and approve the requested read-only access
  7. Return to your AI client and enable the eduMe connection for your conversation or workspace, if prompted

You don't need to create or paste an API key, access token or client secret. Leave any optional OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret fields empty unless eduMe has supplied them.

How to check your connection

  1. Start a new conversation with the eduMe connection switched on
  2. Ask: "Use eduMe to diagnose the current connection."
  3. Check that the assistant confirms it's authenticated. It should never display your password or an access token
  4. Then ask: "Use eduMe to list the reporting groups and teams I can access."
  5. Check that the results match the access your admin account has in eduMe

Troubleshooting

Problem

What to check

The endpoint isn't found

Make sure you used the exact HTTPS URL supplied by eduMe and that it ends in /mcp

Few or no reporting features appear

Make sure the connected admin is active, has the Company Analyst role and approved read access during sign-in

No groups, teams or content are returned

Check the connected admin has access to them in eduMe

A connection that worked before now fails

Disconnect eduMe, add it again and sign in again in your browser. Also check whether the admin's status, role or permissions have changed
